Search by Entity Name
The first method to perform a Michigan business entity search is by entity name.
You need to begin by accessing the search page. Once you access it, you will be able to type the entity name you want to use in the search bar.
Select the search type from the drop-down list on the right. You can search for entities which names begin with the name you put in the search bar, as well as for the exact match, or you can use the search input as keywords.
You can also perform a Soundex search which can help you find records for alternate spellings of a name. Once you select the required search type, click on the Search button below.
If there are no records, you will see a message that says “No records found; try a new search using different criteria”.
If there are records, you will get all the entities that match the search type you have selected and the words you have searched for. At this step, you will see the entity name, type, ID number (as well as the old ID number), and the address of the entity. To find out further details about a particular entity, you will need to click the entity name.
This page will allow you to see all the business details including filings for the entity that you searched, the officers and directors of the corporation, entity type, registered office mailing address, the name and address of the resident agent, and more.
Search by an Individual Name
The second method to perform the Michigan business entity search is by an individual name.
Click on the circle next to the Search by an Individual Name and enter the first and/or last name to the search box.
Just like when we were searching by entity name, you can select a search type from the drop-down list on the right. Select the required search type and click on the Search button below.
Here you will see all the records that match the selected search type and the name you entered in the search bar. Along with the name, you will be able to see the position the person holds in the entity, as well as the individual's address, entity name, and both new and old ID numbers.
To view additional information about the entity, just click on the entity name.
Search by Identification Number
The third method to perform the Michigan business entity search is by ID number.
Click on the search bar and enter that ID number you have. Click Search.
Since we are performing a search by ID number, there will be just one search result. If the ID number you have searched for belongs to an entity, you will be taken to the entity summary page immediately.
Search by Filing Number
The last method to perform the Michigan business entity search is by filing number.
Just like when we were searching by ID number, you should enter the filing number to the search bar, click Search, and if the filing number you have searched for belongs to an entity, there will be only one result.
Now you can view the PDF, or you can tick the box next to the filing you have searched for and click on the Order filings button below.
